I still maintain mixed thoughts regarding zoos. I fully support the conservation and education aspects, but often find myself dismayed at the lack of space many of the animals are provided and their subsequent adoption of unnatural behaviors. This fellow, at Roger Williams Park Zoo was confined to a paddock smaller than half the size of a football field. I have no doubt that the animals are well cared for, but to see such a magnificent beast with no room to roam is a little disheartening.
