Hotel Garoe, Peurto de la cruz, Tenerife. The hotel corridors on all floors radiate out in three directions from this central gallery which has a stone block floor or courtyard and i think used to be open to the elements! Although it has a glass roof, which was added later, it's not fully sealed as there is a air gap on the bottom edges. As warm air rises it dissipates up the central void thus keeping the corridors and balconies cool. Brilliant I thought! Also very beautiful...
