Location
This was taken on a self drive safari in the Adebeyo Elephant park in RSATime
12.30 in the early afternoon from a crude hide that had been erected near the elephant's watering hole - not a single person there apart from we two.Lighting
White, flat light is usually a no-no for good photography but here in Africa, near mid-day, the absence of harsh shadows proved to be a blessing, bringing out all the details of the animal's hide.Equipment
Nikon D50 200mm 1/400s at f5.6Inspiration
These two emerged from a muddled herd and there, suddenly was the shot of the day!Editing
Yes, three bracketed shots merged through HDRSoft to pull out all the detailIn my camera bag
Now, a Nikon D750, a Nikon 28-300 telephoto, a Nikon f2.4 50mm prime and a Tokina wide angle 11-16mm telefoto. And a tripod, of course!Feedback
Always try to stay away from large parties of visitors and go it alone wherever its safe so to do.
