"Cornered" | Bald Eagle | Campbell River | British Columbia | Canada
The wingspan of a Bald Eagle can range from 72" - 85". I find when photographing them, I most often start with a bird that is perched. It's easy to want to zoom in or to get closer to fill the frame. The problem is if the bird flies, a six foot wingspan won't fit in the frame and the wings are clipped from the shot. It's best to decide which shot you want; flight or tight. Set yourself up to be able to take the shot that you have in mind.
