Excellent black and white image Joe. I've looked long and hard at this image trying to work out what why it was troubling me. The exposure is great with a nice tonal range and the real focus, the tree is better defined than the rest of the more diffuse detail.
I think it's the track, although it leads the eye into the scene I think the lead in is too prominent and leads me past the tree and out into the misty background. If it were cropped from the bottom of the frame to the point where the right hand edge of the track meets the right edge of the frame the effect is to put what is the horizon on the lower third of the frame and as the tree is on the right third, it balances the frame much better, reduces the lead in and makes the tree more prominent in the frame.
Of course this is just my subjective view for what it's worth, it's a very nicely executed shot either way.
Regards.
Tony.

Agree with Taffmeister. To be absolutely critical of this superb capture I too would crop to flatten the road. As it is here it gives the lower right corner a more dimensional look. As if it is lifting. That is the only critique I can muster out of this work of art. Excellent shot!!!!
