This April before last, while camping at Assateague Island National Seashore, my fiancée and I were following a small group of the wild horses through one of the back penninsulas when the western sky started turning dark. Feeling the pressure drop, and the breeze die away, I knew a cell was headed right towards us. Literally seconds later I saw the cloud wall come into view, but all I had on me was a telephoto lens. I sprinted back to camp to grab my wide-angle lens, then sprinted back to the waters edge to compose a shot. Completely winded, I had to resort back to my military training to force myself to hold still and shoot. Less than 30 seconds after this shot was taken, I was again sprinting back to camp to get my camera gear out of the rain.
