Location
The photo was taken on place called "the death lake" in Bulgaria. I got luck with the wind. The clouds are from another photo, it was clear sky that day..Time
It was early evening. Few minutes before the sunset. In the middle of the summer.Lighting
I am sorry about the place, because now is forbidden place. It was quite interesting and unusual place. May be some day it will be opened with free access.Equipment
I'am nikon user. Usualy use D810, but this photo is taken with a D600, if I remember right. I almost always use a flash with squire softbox to fill the shadows. This is not exception. Here is the most simple set, just one compact flashlight wit 60cm softbox on crappy stand. Placed the closest possible position pointing the model, a bit lower from her eyes.Inspiration
I always shoot just for fun. And the inspiration was the place. I took few other photos in the same place it is somehow futuristic place. Look like a movie scene.Editing
Yes. I did postprocessing. I added the clouds, from another photo, because the sky was clear and it looked to me a bit boring. And a bit of cropping because the softbox.. And that is all, nothing fancy or special.In my camera bag
I always use Nikon DSLR even now in 2020. D810 and D600 are my most used (and loved) cameras. The lens set is Nikkor 70-200/2.8 vr2, Sigma 50/1.4 art and the same but 35mm, Samyang 14/2.8 MF and Nikkor 28g f1.8. I always have two compact speedlights with a ttl capable remote trigger. And many batterys, cards, one Marumi cpl and that's all.Feedback
Just try, to spot unusual place, take a time to observe how the light change in the time, and be ready when the light is good..
