Behind The Lens

Location
I took this shot while on safari in Kenya on the Maassi Mara. This African rolling grassland has dense thickets of scrub and groves of acacia woodlands. Truly breathtaking.
Time
It was a magical day and we saw many different animals we decided to head back in when we spotted a huge lion with the lioness pictured above.
Lighting
This was shot in natural the sun starting to lower in the sky from behind her.
Equipment
I was using a Canon 5D Mark III at F2.8 with an ISO of 800.
Inspiration
The trip to Kenya with Micato Safaris was one of the most magical experiences of my life. I feel as though I'm always growing as a photographer and would love to return one day.
Editing
I opened the series of these images in Bridge when I returned home searching this moment out. I had remembered her staring off into the distance. I was excited when I saw this particular one. I brought it into ACR and made a few minor adjustments.
In my camera bag
I am a Canon user for many years. I had the Canon 5D Mark III, the 70-200 2.8 and 24-27 2.8 with me while on Safari.
Feedback
I think if I were ever to have the privilege of going back I would bring the 100-400 F 4.
