This was the hardest photo of all to take. Taps was playing as they carried my father and the American Flag. It hit me extremely hard. But I knew one day my mother would need these photos to remember as she has since been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia. I still cry when I look at these photos. My father was a good man!

This was very meaningful to me. We buried a close friend at Arlington last month. His wife & daughter, both friends of mine, asked if I would take photos. A few are in my gallery. Memories last forever.

I took photos of my fathers funeral as my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Some days this is the only way she remembers he has passed. The hardest day of my life taking these photos. I made a video honoring my father on Youtube ~ it is from a daughters point of view.

I served in the AF for 6 years, 1971 to 1977. Not a popular time, but I was proud to do it. I was a member of the JAG corp, and had to perform this duty a number of times. My father was a career Marine pilot and was not buried with honors because no wanted the military involved. Although it was a personal insult, I did not make an issue of it just to keep the peace, this was a grave error on my part. My father is listed a one of the most decorated marine pilots of WW2. He died of Parkinson disease. These pictures are a great credit to you. Others might not have understood why you took the pictures, but in time many will thank you.
