The "old man" of the Onaqui wild horse herd in the west desert of Utah. This stallion was the Alpha stallion of in years past. Now, dethroned, he is relegated to a periphrial position outside the herd. He remains close to the herd, but is never allowed to interact. He displays many scars from historical battles. I wonder if he remembers.

I recognized Old Man right away! I was there recently ... he definitely remains close to the herd but does definitely interact! He hangs out very closely with a young paint bachelor. They both have sore legs but still hold their own with the herd! Both Old Man and the bachelor came close to me ..... Old Man has very wise old eyes .... I am sure his memories are very long!!!!! He is a sight to behold ....what tenacity and grit he has!!!!
