I love the shape and form of cranes. A trip to Hokkaido, Japan is on my bucket list as I would love to see red-crowned cranes dancing in the snow. While this is not a Japanese crane, this sandhill from Bosque del Apache reminds me of the simple paint strokes of Japanese art. My files include many images of front lit birds, fly ins and portraits, but because of its simplicity, this one is among my favorite crane images.
