This little jumping spider is a female Plexippus paykulli (Audouin, 1826). Although it looks big on your screen, the size of spider is less than 1 cm. Also, this shot is very special for me, as it was awarded the 2nd prize in the “Fauna and Flora” photo competition organised by the Cyprus Photographic Society. This was my very first participation in any photography completion and I am delighted from the outcome.

For the record, and those interested in the technical details, this is a single RAW shot taken with Nikon D750 and the superb Venus 60mm f-2.8 Ultra-Macro @ f-11, 1-200s, ISO 100 and diffused SB-900 flash; you can actually see the diffuser in the top part of the spider's eyes. Cropped and re-framed in LR and then into PS for minor adjustments and selective sharpening.
