Location
For my fashion and beauty shoots, I rarely use the studio, preferring to shoot in rented locations. I make sure that I have very different rooms with different lighting situations.Time
The photo was taken in the afternoon, so I could also use daylight for the photo.Lighting
For beauty shoots or fashion shoots with a lot of the model's skin, avoiding mixed light is important. Mixed light produces discolorations that are difficult to reduce in postproduction. Here I combine daylight with a studio flash that emits light indirectly via the ceiling.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 80 D with a Sigma Art 35 mm. ISO 100 with 1/160 s und f 2.2. For additional light a studio flash was used.Inspiration
For this shot, I wanted to avoid a lingerie-typical environment like a couch or recliner. At the same time, the model and lingerie should come across well. Juliet has very good model measurements and therefore her legs should also still appear in the picture.Editing
The shot was taken in RAW format and processed in Lightroom. Here 3 small moles were retouched and the skin texture was minimally optimized. In my camera bag
I now use Sony cameras in most of my shoots. Fuji is my second system, just because the cameras are smaller, you can work with it again differently. Regularly in use are the following fixed focal lengths: 24 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 85 mm and 135 mm. If I don't want to change the lens during outdoor shoots (e.g. sand), I use a zoom from 70 to 180 mm.Feedback
For beauty and lingerie shoots, it's all about a good and relaxed mood on set. I always plan some time to get into conversation with the model and build a trusting working atmosphere. I give the idea for the picture, the model interprets it. Not all poses fit all models. The art of the photographer is to find the pose that represents the model and the photo well.
