Location
This picture was shoot in the Montreal Botanical Garden (Jardin Botanique de Montréal in french). It's a large botanical garden in Montreal, Quebec, Canada comprising 75 hectares (190 acres) of thematic gardens and greenhouses. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2008 as it is considered to be one of the most important botanical gardens in the world due to the extent of its collections and facilities, an incredible garden (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal_Botanical_Garden#cite_note-3).Time
During sunset.Lighting
The light was amazing in this great garden, mixed with the different flowers perfume, it's another world. This bee was watching a Monarch butterfly flying around. I was at eyes level with the bee when I saw its little head moving up and down...watching this beautiful orange and black flying insect (from shadow to light).Equipment
This was a hand held shot (no tripod). I used mu Canon 7D Mark II with a macro lens (100 mm ; f/2.8). No flash was used.Inspiration
The moment, I was walking around and simply took time to watch here and there...! That's what macro-photography's all about when you want to do hand held shots.Editing
A little bit. I did adjust contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
I normally bring my 7D MKII with a Canon 70-200mm/2.8 IS, my 100mm/2.8 IS and one of my wide angle lens! Sometimes, I bring a tripod for night photography.Feedback
I keep saying that but, try to watch...and focus! We need to open our eyes for little things. Place yourself in unusual spots at different moment of the day. Try to see ''outside of the box''. Depending on the type of photography you are doing, adjust the way to think..., it's an art, it's a way to be creative ans it's a way to let your creativity flow...! No rush.... : )
