Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my home studio in Minfordd, North Wales (when I say studio I mean my garage with my light)

Time

I'm not too sure on what time but I remember Awen(model) messaging me wanting to do a last minute photoshoot so she could send away for beauty pageants

Lighting

I've been following blogs and blogs about ring lights and wanted to try and have a go myself after following people like Jay Russell and Dani diamond for a couple of years

Equipment

shot with canon 6d 50mm 1.8 used a ring light as can see in the catch light in models eyes

Inspiration

following some professionals that do portrait photography for a living and pushing myself to try and get something half as good as they can

Editing

yes there was a fare amount of time gone into editing this image from frequency separation, spot removal , contorting , hair strands

In my camera bag

canon 6d 50mm 1.8 24-105 f4

Feedback

definitely use a white balance card as the colour off the bulbs can be very orange, make sure the room is nice and cool again the heat off the bulbs can get pretty hot and model will start to sweat, take your time and make sure the image is in focus cause working through the ring light the slights movement can put the focus off
