I let my dogs out to play in the yard & as I stood there waiting to take their photos, I look over at my bushes and this itsy bitsy spider is just watching me!Time
It was early afternoon on a beautiful spring day. It truly couldn't have been more incredible.Lighting
I was fortunate that the sun wasn't at it harshest , but was positioned perfectly to be begging my attention on this adorableness!!Equipment
I don't have all the fancy equipment and expensive lenses so I was stunned and thrilled out of my seat when I uploaded this! I couldn't be prouder of this image, shot with my Canon Sl1 & 18-55 mm kit lens!! I wish I could say it was all manual so I could brag about being a "real" photographer (LOL) but in reality it was on the close-up setting and I just kept slowly getting closer and closer. I also think my " Please please please do not jump on me & we will be friends forever" speech played a key role in this capture!!Inspiration
I have been terrified of spiders all sizes my whole life but when I got my camera there has been some weird pull over me to every spider I see...I dare myself to get closer because I want that detailed shot so bad I forget my fear (mostly). Photography has been like therapy!Editing
I use Lightroom to enhance & clean up my images. I did the basic color enhancements and high clarity for details like his hairs to pop!In my camera bag
I don't have much, by choice, so I carry it all: Canon camera, canon lenses: 18-55mm, 75-300mm & 24mm along with 3 batteries, a small flexible tripod sometimes my standard tripod but I really hate toting it around. I want to learn everything I can with what I have before making an expensive purchase Im not really ready for. I've had my camera just over a yr: I have a lot of learning and progress ahead of me but I love to "practice"!Feedback
It's weird to think that I could offer advice being a major amateur but here it is: make sure your lighting is really good and do not be afraid! Do not be afraid to get closer or do something different! Shoot for your pleasure above all! Thank You so much for checking out my photos!
