Cucumber Falls, in Ohiopyle, PA. It had rained on my way to the falls, and I prayed it would stop enough to be able to get a decent shot. The initial vantage point is above the falls. But a tree branch crosses through the picture. There is a rock step, path that leads down to the base of the falls. This shot is from near the base.

I'm jealous. Every time I've visited Ohiopyle, Cucumber Falls has been packed with people.

Location
This photo was taken at Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle State Park, in Ohiopyle, Pa.Time
Taken shortly after a storm had passed thru the area, mid to late afternoon.Lighting
I love shooting in nature, where I have no control over the light, just how I utilize it.Equipment
Using my Nikon D90, I hiked down a set of rough steps, but without my tripod. so I braced my camera against a tree to steady it.Inspiration
I love waterfalls. Trying to capture each one is always an adventure; water flow, light, other conditions.Editing
I actually don't shoot raw, by choice. I prefer to challenge myself on location, to make the most of what is available. So post-processing for me, is merely a little tweaking. I did apply a bit of a tilt angle highlight the falls. In my camera bag
Just my current Nikon and a 300 lens. Sometimes a tripod. And always lots of spare batteries.Feedback
Be patient with nature. While planning a shoot can be important, be willing to adjust to conditions.
