We were at Gurudogmar Lake, 18,750 ft above sea level, the Crown Jewel of Sikkim. The road to Gurudongmar Lake, while barren and dusty, was the most beautiful drive I have ever encountered! It was around a 5 hour drive with lots of twists, turns and bumps. The lake was beautiful with sky blue reflecting back at us, the prayer flags lining the lake and the stones piled around the shore. The snow laden mountains ,the silence around it was a heavenly feeling. The view was spectacular and it felt as if I was a step away from God. It was as if HE would come down now to shake hands with me.
