In Hawaii, the green sea turtle is referred to as “honu” and is a symbol of good luck and longevity.

Truth be told, I needed that luck to find them as it seemed I was just walking up and down the beaches, wondering if I saw a turtle in the distance... only to realize it was rock. As I turned around and was close to just giving up on finding a resting sea turtle for a sunset composition, I started to see "rocks" that I didn't remember walking past.

It turns out sea turtles like to sneak up the beaches once you've walked past them... :)
