We all pretty much know of the story of "Little Red Riding Hood" by the Brothers Grimm, who actually made this story seem a lot nicer than it originally was.
In Charles Perrault's version, included in his 1697 collection "Stories or Fairy Tales from Past Times: Tales of Mother Goose", there is no intrepid huntsman.
In the early version of the story, Little Red Riding Hood simply gets in the bed, and then dies, eaten up by the big bad wolf, with no miraculous relief. Perrault's story aims at reminding us that not all wolves are wild beasts but some seduce with gentleness, sneak into our beds, and get us there!
There is also a waaaaaay deeper meaning to the story which I will not get into on ViewBug. It is for you to research and find out.
