Behind The Lens

Location
This cabin belongs to a friend and sits on 40 acres at about 8,300ft outside of Carbondale, Colorado.
Time
Taken in January just before dark, a little before 5pm
Lighting
Having the lights on in the cabin added a warm, inviting feeling in contrast to the snowy, cold and stormy atmosphere outside. Taking this phot just before dark helped at to the moodiness of the photo.
Equipment
I took this photo with my Nikon D7000 and 18-200mm lens.
Inspiration
This property was up for sale at one point and I was hired to take some photos of the property. I love this place and the remote simplicity it provides, so it was a fun opportunity.
Editing
Yes, minimal post processing in Lightroom to lighten up shadows and color and finished with Topaz Labs HDR preset for a detailed and dramatic look.
In my camera bag
My Nikon D7000. Nikon lenses 12-24mm, 18-200mm and a 35mm and a variety of filters.
Feedback
Have fun! I tromped through almost 5 foot of snow to get this angle of the cabin. I love the contrast in color between the cabin lights and cold snow. Take your time and think about how you want your picture to look.
