Behind The Lens

Location

The background cries 'deep forest', but actually it's a few spruces in the park near the museum.

Time

I really don't remember time of day, but it was November. That day was rainy and grey, together with my model we hid in the trees to avoid chilly wind.

Lighting

The natural light formed interesting shapes on her face. If it'd be a sharp light like from the sun, the mood wouldn't be so grim. But this dark sky helped with atmosphere.

Equipment

My usual Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 85mm lens. No tripod, I need to be constantly on the move.

Inspiration

I liked the small secured place between the trees and how much light in between.

Editing

Skin, of course, some of if needed to be smoother. Contrast to make the pic more moody and sharp.

In my camera bag

Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 85mm 1/8 lens and Canon 50mm 1/4F lens.

Feedback

For me, capturing the mood on the outside is always capturing the weather. So I plan outdoor shoots carefully: I need to know the weather, if I need the sun – time of rise and set.
