When Scout, our black lab was 7-8 months old, we brought home a tiny little wild kitten that our then 6 year son spent almost 4 hours trying to catch this little kitten before he was successful. When we got home and introduced the two we had no idea what would happen. This tiny little kitten walked right up to this fairly large, very excitable and active puppy. Scout bent his head down and licked the kitten. Sammy was so little that when Scout licked him it picked him up off the ground a good six inches. They were best buddies from that moment on. They slept together and Scout even learned how to 'scratch' Sammy's favorite spots with little nibbles. As seen in this photo. You couldn't help but smile when you saw them together.
