Location
This photo was taken in Montreal in a small studio I use. It was our first experience together, the Model (Khate Ya) and me, Also, our MUA, Shahad Radwi did a great job on the make up, keeping it subtil and glamourous.Time
The shoot took place in the afternoon, we closed the window curtains to avoid light from the outside and used mainly the candle light.Lighting
A part of the shoot was to experiment with candle light. The equlibrium is difficult to find and we have to slow down the speed. The position of the model allowed her to be pretty still. I use a flash for the fill in to get details on the veil. I also placed a veil behind the model with candles to give texture and to separate the model from the background.Equipment
With my Nikon, I use a tripod with a remote trigger for the flash.Inspiration
It was the end of the shoot, we were pretty tired, and the mood called for something quiet. The candle provides an interesting light on the model's neck and her lips. When I placed the veil behind the model, it changed the aspect of the scene and gave a nice atmosphere for the picture.Editing
I needed some post-processing to reduce the noise and push a little on saturation. And thanks to the model almost no retouch on the skin.In my camera bag
Remote triggers. Flashes and lenses. All the things to be mobile and go on location easily,Feedback
In low light, our eyes are difficult to trust. It get used to low light and often the display on the camera do compensate on the image. I often forget to trust the histogram to ensure the image get enough light. Should I push the ISO?. The grain on the picture is difficult to manage and I still need to experiment. Any comments or ahared experience are welcome.
