Location
This was taken at the Colonnade in Flower Gardens of Kromeríž in the Czech Republic. It was also the location where I had my wedding photos taken 8 years ago before I even thought of photography as a career. Now I live in the Czech Republic and this location was the set for the image.Time
I'd taken this late afternoon 1 hours before golden hour.Lighting
The light was soft and directional because the sun had gone down behind the colonnade. So we got the kickback of softlight and it was just beautiful and soft which really complimented the nature of motherhood.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750 and my trusty but bokeh king 200mm f2 ais manual focus nikkor lensInspiration
My own wedding at this location really inspired me to come back and shoot it for my vision.Editing
Yes. For me I need to match the red dress perfectly. The little girl's dress was sightly on the magenta side so I matched it with mums dress to get the sense of togetherness and bonding! In my camera bag
My usual equipment is my 85mm 1.8 Nikkor, 135mm f2 Samyang and of course the boss in my bag the 200mm f2 ais Nikkor from 1977 I shoot with both the D750 and D810Feedback
I say for something similar shoot a long lens it helps compress the scene and focus attention on the subjects. Light, wardrobe and pose make the image speak to me.
