I would like to suggest that this image would have been even stronger had the geese not been centered. Great shot though.

A rule of thumb that I use is if symmetry is so over whelming, the shooting in the middle generally becomes the best option. Otherwise, I always offset the subject. If symmetry is not present then I always shot the subject not in the middle. Shooting it centered makes the image stagnant or boring. It at least makes the image less stronger.
