This was shot during the 2017 Chino "Planes of Fame" Airshow.Time
The exif data shows this was shot @ 3:15 in the afternoon. The afternoon sky had building clouds so there was a little more depth to help out.Lighting
Again just basic natural defuse lighting, my favorite!Equipment
This was shot with a D7100 body and a Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED lens. My go to lens for Airshows. I almost always use a Bogen Monopod and swivel head to reduce fatigue during a long day at a Show.Inspiration
The Planes of Fame event is simple the best. I love it for the WW-II vintage Warbirds, but a stray is always a welcomed subjectEditing
This one had a lot of work to end with this example. I use Lightroom and On-1 Photo 10 to perform my Post work. This had a good deal of contrast and shadow detail pulled up and I de-saturated all of the blue channel to add to the mood.In my camera bag
This will vary with my intended subject, for an Airshow, it's now a D7200 body and a Tokina 12-24 f/4.0 and the above mentioned 80-400 and a monopod.Feedback
Lots of panning practice and never overlook a 'diamond in the rough' type of image. This image is proof that there always is a reason to double check every image.
