Driving back to camp from the north western side of Etosha, I came across this lonely giraffe. As night was approaching I was wondering if it was heading to a safer area as IM sure Lions prowl these plains at night. I framed it up si that the giraffe would follow the rule of thirds and exposed for the sky.

Its interesting how important framing can be. Imagine placing your point of interest in the center or off on the right ( not necessarily in the thirds position either.) It would feel like a different story.

Nicely noted. I actually had 2 or 3 other photos that I took of the sam subject at the same time and framed it differently and they felt totally different. The finite frame really makes a shot, even though we know it extends beyond that infinitely. I like the giraffe on the left moving towards the left frame as it made it feel more "ominous" in a sense. This is lion country, the sun is setting and the giraffe is walking into the night, away from the light. The left frame made it feel like he made be walking into a trap. :) Just a small insight on why. :) thanks agin Bill. Much Appreciated.
