Fledgling heron (a recently hatched 2017 model) contemplates the meaning of life in Kelsey Park, Beckenham, UK. Young herons seem unperturbed by humans, largely I guess because they haven't yet worked out what we are. This was taken with a Nikkor 300mm and I maintained a respectful distance, but the heron was right by the lake's edge and didn't budge when eventually I walked past.
