This was golden hour as the sunset their was beautiful light across their faces, but no backlight since the sun was to their right. I used an Alien Bee 800 as a backlight and photoshopped it out later.Equipment

Take your photo when the light is ideal. I like to shoot about an hour before sunset. Be patient and shoot a lot when working with kids.
