Location
I took this shot in Monument Valley, there had just been a thunderstorm about an hour before.Time
Around noon, we'd been on the road for some hours and this was our penultimate stop.Lighting
The main feature of the photograph is the reflection of the monument, so the lighting is all about clarity for both textures.Equipment
This was taken on my Nikon DX40 with a Tamron lens, basic point and shoot (balance) methodology.Inspiration
I fealt it was important to feature the water in the desert, it was so unusual to see it like your average puddle. People flocked from all over the world to see the monuments but I realised they paled in comparison to how important water is to this environment.Editing
I think for this one I simply adjusted the contrast and kept to the original/ natural look.In my camera bag
I normally have a DSLR (I now have an updated Nikon) my Tampon macro to zoom lens and occasionally some solar flare lenses too. I think as long as you take something that shoot with andisabilities an open mind you will be okay.Feedback
Check the weather forecast? Look for things which you see as out of place or completely normal but overlooked, it'seems often theses that say more.
