The photo was taken from a hide out located on the Veluwe in The NetherlandsTime
I had planned a full day in the hide out so I arrived pretty early. I’m not quite sure what time it was when I made this picture but the light was just perfect!Lighting
All I wanted was a nice day with my camera and boy it was nice! Saw a lot of birds and the hours flew by. It’s really a nice thing to do from time to time.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5D MkII with a Canon 70-200. If I remember correctly I used an 1.4 converterInspiration
I was inspired by some photos I had seen in a magazine. Also I’m very fond of birds. I can look at them in my garden for hours. I was really glad this Robin sat on the branch long enough for me to take this shotEditing
Not a lot of post processing was needed on this photo. As I said, the light was perfect!In my camera bag
Since I took this photo I switched to a Canon 6D and a Canon 100-400. Also I carry my Canon 24-70 with me.Feedback
Best advice I can give is find a good located hide out and enjoy yourself! It will all happen right there in front of you!
