Look closely and you will see a person walking on the rim, gives it some scale. Anyway, this is Mount Bromo in East Java an active volcano which is breath taking to witness. I'll always research my trips heavily before travelling and nearly every picture of this place is taken from the viewpoint. It's a good place don't get me wrong but very predictable and there are thousands of the same image. I'll always try and come away with something different, and I had three days to explore. Most people visit here in one morning with a travel company. Why? Because what accommodation there is here, is pretty awful. My room smelt of damp and the shower was horrendous. In fact I didn't even use the shower the whole three days - yep I know thats gross, but it was grim believe me. Absolutely amazing view though across the caldera though which totally made up for the poor living conditions. Anyway, this image was taken off the beaten track and there was a lot of traversing to find a route up the side of the volcano. Hope you like the image, thanks for any likes and comments!
