This photo was taken in Enkhuizen, Holland. The mushrooms grew in a hole of a fallen tree .Time
It was about two pm.Lighting
This photo was taken with a very old and poor quality pocket camera... I think it is the photo where this wonderful hobby of mine started. I had no extra flash or anything fancy and I didn't care as well, just my old and worn little camera and me.Equipment
This is one of my first photos, taken with an old Canon PowerShot A460 pocket camera, nothing more.Inspiration
As I was walking with my camera in my pocket to visit a client, I saw this log of wood with the mushrooms and fell in love with them... I quickly took a photo, to my own surprise actually because I didn't take many artistic photos then. When I came home and looked at the result, I decided to go back with a better camera, my wifes camera. It was all for nothing because the mushrooms where all black and changed into a hopeless pile of snot in just a few hours . The next year I went back at the same time of year and after a couple of days they where back! Unfortunately the light was too bad and as I knew I just had a couple of hours, I waited for the sun to come but she didn't... more luck next year!Editing
This is one of my very first photos and of course in color. I loved the subject but the quality wasn't great... Later I decided to turn it into a Black and White version. I edited it in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I don't have a bag of equipment at all, only my little pocketcamera wich practically fits in my backpocket. It shows that you do not have to use expensive and big cameras to achieve nice results...Feedback
The only advice I can give you is look around you for all the wonders the world has to offer and allways carry your camera with you and don't fotget to charge up the batteries! Enjoy the beauty of the world we live in... Take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one later. Once you open your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop and edit the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
