Location
Lake Clark National Park in Alaska.Time
As always, good I,ages are best captured in early morning light, as this was.Lighting
The day was overcast so light was diluted but nice and even. Hence, no shadows. But light was low, enabling me to capture a bit of rim light on the face of the near on the right.Equipment
I used a Nikon D500 with a 70/200 lens as I recall. These bears are tolerant of the human presence, thus providing the opportunity to get fairly close.Inspiration
There is nothing more magic than the playful interaction of the young, whether human or animal. The playful joy is a part of the story.Editing
Lightly processed in Photoshops, cropping a bit and softening the texture of the grass to focus more on the subjects. In my camera bag
I normally carry two camera bodies and at least three lenses and in this instance a tripod. I rarely use teleconverters and never use flash.Feedback
Go where the action is but few people, get up before dawn and follow the changing light. Look for interesting behavior and capture the mood.
