This photo was taken at my cousin's wedding in Devon.Time
This was taken mid morning in the summer, immediately after the ceremony.Lighting
The table was sitting at the bottom of a large open staircase and the only light was from a skylight several floors above.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 550D, f/4 ISO 800 shutter speed was 1/30 and I was resting on the bannister of the staircase one floor up.Inspiration
I wasn't the official photographer for the wedding, I was just a guest but I was quite excited as it was the first opportunity I had had to photograph a wedding. I was particularly taken with the patina on the table in the natural light.Editing
Fortunately all I had to do was enhance the colours a little to get the result I wanted, I also added a vignette.In my camera bag
I usually only carry a Canon 5D MkIII with a kit lense, I have always used cheap tripods but recently invested in a much better one and am really enjoying proper stability :)Feedback
Don't be scared to get yourself into the action, even if there is a professional photographer there (who isn't you). Always pay attention to how patterns and light work together, almost everything can make a good photo in the right light.
