Congrats! Love this picture. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities. Loved seeing it from this angle.

Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken in the financial district in San Francisco.
Time
It was about 2 p.m.
Lighting
Natural lighting in the month of April.
Equipment
Sony Nex-6 with a fish-eye lens. Handheld.
Inspiration
I was visiting San Francisco for the day and had arrived via the Larkspur Ferry. From the ferry building I walked about 6 or so blocks into the center of SF to the financial district. The high rises are tall and so close together, it was exciting to see the possibilities. I walked around a circles in about 4 blocks and experimented.
Editing
Just the use of the sliders for contrast, primarilly. I used the in-camera HDR setting.
In my camera bag
When I am walking like I was on this day, I have a hip pack with a Sony Nex-6 with either a 50-210mm or fish eye lens in it and a Sony a6000 with a 17-55mm lens around my neck. No tripod. No purse. I really need to have light gear or I get very tired within an hour or so.
Feedback
We're all limited to some extent by our ability to travel and visit different environments. SF is the city with high rises that I actually visit regularly. When I'm there, I take advantage of those scenes and always spend a few hours there. I skip the normal tourist spots, except for the Golden Gate Bridge.
