This image was taken in Bonaventure Cemetery, East of Savanna Georgia.

Bonaventure Cemetery is the largest Gothic Cemetery in the United States. It began as a private cemetery in 1868 and covers nearly 160 acres.
The cemetery was made famous when the 1994 movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" was filmed there

The original image was nearly monochrome when I took it, due to overcast skies and subject material. The only real color was the green foliage in the background.
I wanted a darker, more dramatic feel, reminiscent of late 70's early 80's album covers from bands such as The Cure, Joy Division, Bauhaus and, Siouxsie and the Banshees.

I converted the image to B&W and then created a cyan- dark blue, duo-tone. From there, I softened the background and added the rays of light, further enhancing the moody feel.

The blue makes it. This work has drama and interest. I love the sharpness on the hand showing the branch. An exceptional capture.

oh my, this is beautiful. I really like that you used the 'blues' in your processing. I imagine you took a lot of amazing pics in that Cemetery as well as in New Orleans.
