Stream looked quite enticing for quick dip
While taking our well deserved lunch break by the almighty Colorado River, we enjoyed watching a group of daredevils rafting down the river. Although the sun was still hung high, it was time for us to head back. The days were shorter in September. We took the same Havasu Creek route that we had taken to get to the river back to the campground. The scenery now looked different as we were gaining elevation. Especially as we walked along the creek, the vegetation surrounding the blue-green stream looked quite full of life juxtaposed against the dry canyon walls glowing in orange by the bouncing sunlight. Those high canyon walls mostly spared us from getting overheated in the sun, but at times it was inevitable. Certainly it felt cooler in the shade. And the stream looked quite enticing for a quick dip.
