I've been where you were many times but have never seen that fence. Awesome shot.

Great photo! I've created a challenge called "Through the Fence" ... you should enter!

I'd say it's pretty self explanatory! Haha. But just in case, this was taken in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Vista Point.Time
This was taken right when the sun was going down for the night. Shining directly onto the bridge creating almost a spot light affect!.Lighting
Being up on the Battery Spencer overlook, it was just extremely crowded. Full of people taking photos that seemed to be the same. Such as selfies or basic photos of the bridge. I drifted away from the crowd looking to create something nobody has seen before. I saw these holes cut into the fence down below away from everybody which eventually gave me the inspiration of this photo. Similar photos may have been taken before but I never seen it. I felt I was creating something different which was mainly what I was looking for with this image.Equipment
I used nothing but my Sony A7R2 and a 16-35mmInspiration
Creating an image no-one has seen before. Doing something different, outside the box. Slowing that you don't have to be part of the crowd. That you were just another person passing through. Be creative, be different, and everybody will see the beauty in you.Editing
I did. I'm kind of all over the place as far as style depending on the photo. I've always loved the moody dark tones and felt this image was best for that. It let me show that the sunlight helped keep the focus on the bridge, which is what I aimed for.In my camera bag
I'm usually out hiking all the time. I like keeping things light. I usually only keep one body and a couple lenses at most depending on where I'm going. My 16-35mm is a must. I keep a 14mm for my night photography and 70-200 normally to show a different view and depth in the image.Feedback
Yea! Look around! Use what's naturally given to you. It's not like I hiked the fence up there to take this. That fence was there and I played around. Creativity is what stands out and gets the biggest response. Don't let the crowds draw you in forcing you to take the same image they are taking.
