The dominant colour of the beach rocks was brown, all else swathed in grey mist, so i decided to go with the flow and create unity through a single colour, sepia. The lone figure in the distance is essential to make this work well as an image, it draws us in, gives scale and a focal point of interest where the major lines of the composition meet.

I later made a print of this, slashed fine angled lines into the surface to supply the slanting rain. Manual manipulation, anything goes.
