This photo was taken in my small studio in downtown Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada). It's a shared studio space that I share with another photographer.Time
Photography is not my full time gig. I work a day job and as soon as I am done for the day, I run to my car and rush to my studio to quickly setup and meet the model/client. Brianne also works a 9-5 so we were both rushing to get to the studio.Lighting
For this shot, I wanted to add something new to my Gravity backdrop. I setup an old ladder to the right of Brianne and fired a bare Profoto D1 through the ladder to cast some interesting shadows onto the backdrop.Equipment

Brianne is one of my favourite models to work with. We shot years ago and we been trying to setup another shoots for months if not years. Are scheduled finally aligned and we were able to make a shoot happen.Editing

The best advise I can give is to not over light.I kept this shot fairly simple by using a large lighting modifier and feather the light until you get that soft look. Sometimes I will even move the light so much that it's not even pointing at the model. I prefer to use the fall off light to light my client.
