In the 1400's, Renaissance paintings often focused on women who would today be considered fat.
However, at that time, their figures and forms were considered the height of sexiness.
Food was scarce and, only the rich could afford enough calories to gain weight.
So, are the borderline, anorexic supermodels of today, a momentary trend of aesthetic qualities, or, does beauty transcend height and weight.
