The Ijen Crater. I was wearing a gas mask for this image, thats a first for me. The air was thick with sulphur. The lake inside the crater is also a danger zone, it's filled with sulphuric acid. This is a harsh environment, I only spent a couple of hours here, and most of that time was spent hiking a kilometre down to see the blue fire which happens in the darkness and back up again. Before, making the main hike back down to the base.
