I love the French Noir feel this has.

Behind The Lens

Location

Moscow, embankment of Moscow-river

Time

Evening, an hour after sunset

Lighting

I had to use the light from one of the lanterns to see the streams of rain and to illuminate the face of the model with a regular flashlight.

Equipment

Nikon D700 with Nikkor 24-70 2.8 on tripod. Pocket flashlight.

Inspiration

We planned to wait for the blue hour and shoot with the lighted lanterns on the background, but it began to rain and the sky was just black. For about an hour we waited for the end of the rain to hide under the bridge until finally frozen. And in this mood, we decided to take some pictures in the pouring rain. Luckily, both the camera and the model survived.

Editing

I shoot on the film for a long time, so I was not used to spending a lot of time on processing. This picture is only translated into black and white and probably the contrast is corrected.

In my camera bag

For the most part, I shoot portraits. Therefore, I usually only wear a camera with a lens. And one more camera just in case. Usually as the main tool I use Nikon D700 with 135 2.0 DC or 24-70 2.8. If I do not want to draw the attention of others to the fact of shooting, then I take out the spare camera Fujifilm X100T.

Feedback

You will need to wait for a strong downpour after sunset. And do not forget to freeze the model properly to bring her in the right mood. A well-frozen model moves less and it will be easier for you to take pictures with a long exposure. :)
