This photo was taken at the terrace of Petra Fig Tree Villa, a cozy Bed and breakfast in a quiet part of Wadi Musa in Jordan overlooking Petra Mountains.Time
It was 4 pm! I remember that I arrived early and the owner of the B&B wasn’t ready to receive me so I took my camera and went to the terrace. There I was lucky to find this rosemary bush in full bloom with lots of bees around it.Lighting
I am a hobby photographer and I don’t use any specific technique, I shoot in daylight and in Jordan we are lucky to have a beautiful bright sunlight which is great for Macro Photography.Equipment
This shot was taken with my first DSLR Canon EOS 550D with the EF 100mm f 2.8 Macro Lens.Inspiration
Nature inspires me I just love to capture the small details of insects and flowers which are invisible to the naked eye and when I saw this fast flying bee (Anthophora urbana) among others hovering around the rosemary bush intoxicated with its flowers I knew that this was my chance to capture it.Editing
Just added a High Pass filter set to soft light in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I upgraded to my second camera Canon EOS 5DS R, which is great for landscape and the 50-megapixel resolution comes handy when cropping part of the image in Macro shots. These are my lenses! Usually I choose two depending of what I want to shoot! Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lens Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM Lens EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM Lens For travel I love the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L as it covers wide angle, short telephoto and for close-up/macro work, results can be quite good.Feedback
A tripod helps to get sharper images but you can’t follow the insects around easily, so a steady hand is really important, a lot of patience and the most important is love for nature
