My brother informed me that this actually is a horse drawn plow, but does't have the same ring. Sooo, artistic license?

Location
I took this picture on my parents farm in Kansas. My father was a lover of old farm equipment and automobiles that adorned the farm waiting to be restored some day. I have no memory of any that actually made it to the restoration stage. I like the view point on this image, I got down on my knees and shot through the wheel making the golden wheat in the background out of depth of field which gives a softer almost romantic feel to the wheat.Time
I went out for a walk around mid afternoon. I remember that it was a clear but cloudy day toward the end of harvest time, you can see by how golden the wheat is behind the antique equipment that it was just about ready for harvesting.Lighting
The sun was high, but because there were big fluffy clouds, it wasn't as harsh as Kansas sun can be.Equipment
I used an Olympus Pen E- PL-1 with a 14-42 mm lens. I always use a view finder attached to the hot shoe as I find the screen imaging hard to see in certain lighting.Inspiration
Having moved away from the farm to city life many years ago I have grown to appreciate the charm of farming and the quirks of the ambience and character of all the pieces of farming and small town living. I was just struck by the way this piece of equipment was juxtaposed against the field of wheat. Even though I had seen this piece of equipment before, I had recently been moved to a new location, so I saw it with different eyes.Editing
I was pretty happy with this image so didn't do much to it in post, just took the exposure down slightly. In my camera bag
I don't have a lot of equipment yet as I am an armature hobbyist on a small budget. everything I have I carry with me in a small shoulder bag just about every time I go out: 14 - 42 MM, 45 - 200 zoom, view finder, Sun guards, HD 0.43X Wide Angle Converter /Macro and of course multiple batteries and memory cards. I am learning to use a tripod but do not carry it with my all the time.Feedback
Keep your eyes open to seeing your environment in a new way and then look at all the different angles, positions, distances that are available to see which creates the most interesting image. I try to remember that what my human eye sees is not always reflected in the camera's eye.
