This photo was taken in Elk Grove, CaliforniaTime
This is one of my favorite images. California has been in a drought for over seven years and many forests fires have happened. This image was taken approximately 8:00 in the evening at sunset with the sun going down through the smoke and haze from the forest fires.Lighting
A very unique lightning situation as the smoke was filling the Sacramento Valley with from the various forest fires in the area.Equipment
This was shot with an Olympus EPL-5 and M.Zukio 17mm lens.Inspiration
I could not believe that the sunset could be so beautiful with all the smoke in the air.Editing
None needed.In my camera bag
I was just getting into photography when this photo was taken. Originally, I was interested in going into infra-red photography. I did some research and found that the Olympus brand was easily converted to shoot infra-red. I purchased an Olympus Pen EPL-5 and was impressed by the cameras ability to deal with low light conditions and no flash required. I found this useful as I love to take pictures of stained-glass within churches. I love the way images were coming out of the camera that I decided to put infra-red conversion on hold and let the camera perform as designed. I normally carry my Olympus EPL 5 and a M.Zukio 17 mm lens and an Olympus 9mm fisheye lensFeedback
Always look out for that unique shot. You are freezing time with your photos. The moment you capture your image...that same image will never be the same as the universe is in constant motion.
