This is a few kilometers south of where I live, and is a new stretch of road that circumvents the traditional road system that passed right through the farmyard. Now the landowner can have some privacy, while visitors like me can drive on this lovely scenic road without feeling we are intruding.

What makes this new road so scenic to me now is the huge amount of flowers that would not normally grow here. They are typical flowers that dominate disturbed soil and will slowly yield to local diversity.

I often take a detour back home from my shopping at the local supermarket. The southernmost point of this detour is at this location, the beginning of the road Sjødalveien. Mostly to look for flowers, and to check on the local owl family, but when I recently saw this new road was opened, and the farmer had put up a sign that the public should use it, I checked it out only to see the amazing flower fields.

It was perhaps not the best time to photograph, as it was both very windy, but also in the middle of the day, but I think it is a lovely moment of a Scandinavian summer's day!
