We were in a small boat moving upstream in on the Kwando River in Bwabwata National Park located in northeast Namibia when we encountered this elephant. The river was not wide enough to pass by safely so we backed away. The elephant appeared to like that as he brought up his trunk to acknowledge his superiority. After a few minutes he wandered up the embankment to eat more grass.
